Original Writing

I love to write. My problem right now is that I lack direction. I can't commit myself to a writing project, instead, I go on and on writing about wanting to write something significant. Liar, liar, pants on fire. If I face reality, I'll see that as in many areas of my life, I avoid making decisions and thus I remain stuck. I must derive something satisfying out of rambling, stumbling and screwing around.

Fear of failure sounds like a good excuse. I've submitted a few things I've written and have had them rejected. That doesn't bother me much. I know most authors are rejected over and over again before they are published.

So I'm back to where I started. I love to write.

Shaddy,

I'm right there with you. I can relate to that desire to write something significant and meaningful. And it paralyzed me for many years.

Ann taught us that through writing we make connections (about ourselves and about the world around us). For me, that means I have to stop waiting and start writing and trust that through writing I'll uncover my story.

While we feel like tourists now, I think we must trust that the road will reveal itself in our written words. The more we explore the sooner we'll learn our way around.

I'm thinking of you as we embark on GA-12.

And thanks SO much for your comments on my poem - it means a lot to know my words spoke to you.
