Caution: Extremely Boring

**************I don't know what's gotten into me lately, but I have this urge to post something to my blog nearly every day. The problem is I don't have anything of value to post.

I'm stubborn by nature so here I am with no ideas, only the need to show up. I'm going to get up and go do something else for a little while and see if an idea comes to me.
*
I'm back. How about a sketch of a typical weekday in my life? Just say "yes" or "no." Of course, you're saying "no" but I'm going to pretend you said "yes."

7:00AM After arguing with myself for at least half an hour, I drag myself out of bed.

I turn on the radio in the bathroom and hop in the shower.

I wish I didn't have to go to work.

I put on some makeup and spend as little time on my hair as possible.

I dress in clothes I picked out the night before.

I drink a large glass of water with 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar.

I pack a thermos of coffee from a pot Lon made and a jug of water in my work tote bag.

7:52A I pick up my tote bag and hop in the truck.

I wish I didn't have to go to work.

8:00A I arrive at work.

I pour myself a cup of coffee.

I look at the clock, wishing it said 1:00PM, time for my one-hour break.

I tend to my dental office manager responsibilities.

I graze throughout the day on food stashed in one of my desk drawers.

I wish I didn't have to work.

I reach for a second Kashi Trail Mix bar but then remember I want to get skinny.

Whenever I can, I check my blog and read my fellow bloggers' posts.

1:00P I leave the office for my midday break.

I run errands or go to the library (5 minutes away) to read.

2:00P Back to work.

I wish I didn't have to work.

I look at the clock every fifteen minutes, wishing it said 5:00PM.

I take the office deposit to the bank.

I peek at my blog at every opportunity.

I smile and try to be pleasant as patients come and go.

I'm less patient with certain patients than I used to be.
*
5:00P I pick up my tote bag and head for the door.
*
I'm smiling and happy with no effort.
*
5:10 I pour myself a glass of red wine for medicinal purposes of course.
*
Lon and I fix and eat supper.
*
I pick out my clothes for the next day.
*
I spend time on my laptop.

My resistance is down this late in the day, so I sneak a snack.
*
I put my feet up and enjoy reading a book.
*
10:00 Off to bed I go.

I frequently wake up Lon with my snoring.

Thanks for sharing my day with me. If you are still here to read this last line, you're a die-hard fan and I appreciate that more than you know.

Some of that sounded a lot like my days before retirement, except the glass of water with cider vinegar! What's up with that? I picture the receptionist in my dentist office when you describe your day there. She is a lovely "older" lady who always has a smile and loves to chat with you - she remembers details about your life, which always amazes me, because there are so many patients there. Bottom line is, she makes you feel comfortable for sometimes a not so comfortable visit. I am just sure that is how your patients see you! They do not notice how many times you look at the clock, nor hear your inner voice saying "I wish I didn't have to be here."

Parrot Writes: Apple cider vinegar has several health benefits plus it's tartness really wakes me up.

A male patient dressed in bib overalls sporting a big gut made a comment to me a few years ago that went like this: Well, you're no spring chicken! I almost sprang across the counter to peck his eyes out. Instead, I let his wife give him hell.

I read all the way to the end and, yes, I am a die-hard fan, Shaddy, even though you wouldn't be able to tell it from my recent long absence.

Have you ever woke yourself up with snoring? I did that the other night and felt really silly. I was in bed scanning "tomorrow's" headlines on my Blackberry (New York Times, Washington Post, NPR, Fox, the Pensacola paper, CNBC) like I almost always do. . . when I heard this LOUD sound and realized for just that split second that it was me, SNORING, really loud. Oh, well, and here I thought I was a delicate flower of femininity! :}

I never snore! Okay, maybe just a little. But it is usually my hubs waking me up with his snoring, or one of the dogs. Who would have thought dogs can snore so loud.

Auntie read your blog to the end, and unlike some others I have heard of the cider vinegar it is also used if you think you may have had some food that was not quite fresh enough, it will kill all the bacteria.
I cannot believe that you are not always very nice and sweet to all your patients. Love ya.

Beth: I have been awakened by my own snoring; it really is startling and a bit disgusting.

darksculptures: My husband used to be the snorer but I decided a few years ago that it was my turn. In fact, I've driven Lon from our bed on occasion because I'm snoring so loud!

Earlier this week, Lon told me he burst out laughing in the middle of the night because the sounds I was making were so strange.

Lon never complains. He's glad I'm sleeping because I used to spend at least half the night awake for no good reason.

Auntie Babe: 99% of the time I'm a good girl at work but upon occasion I've spoken my mind. Thanks for reading the whole thing!

Oh, the beauty of ordinary days! Mine are so much more mundane--I don't work outside the home, so the whole getting dressed thing, complete with hair and make-up is nothing more than a blip in time.

Linda: Thanks for stopping in.

At lest you get out of the house to have your day, mine is in the house and it's starting to get me down a bit, I really can't wait for Spring and craft fairs, boot fairs and a reason to get out of here.
As you like apple cider vinegar for a pick up I will donate my herbal wake up tea to you. It doesn't so much as kick start your day as grab it by the throat and yell in your ears "wake up and get on with it NOW".

It's nice peeking in on peoples ordinary days, in some ways it's refreshing to know that we are all the little cogs making the machine that is everyday turn.

Much love
Lia
