Exactly What I Needed

**************I'm so proud of myself. Today, I indulged myself with a period of relaxation after my workout at NorthPointe.
*
Normally, I look longingly at all the comfy looking furniture in the main lobby as I enter and depart the facility.
*
This morning, I tossed the book I'm reading into my exercise tote bag before I grabbed it and hurried out the door to work. I had meagre hopes that I might reward myself with some down time in the lobby after exercising today. Honestly, I doubted that at that point in my day, I'd actually take the time to sit and read, but figured if I had my book with me, it just might happen.
*
I do, I do, I do believe in miracles!
*
At 3:00 this afternoon, after leaving the locker room, instead of taking the door outside into the cold, I sauntered to the chair closest to the fireplace and settled in, as if I hadn't a care in the world and not a thing that needed doing. As I escaped in Lost Horizon, and savored the quiet moments in that spacious and beautiful space, I realized that I WAS doing exactly what I needed most.

Sarie: You know exactly how awesome it is at NorthPointe since Russ was so involved in its architecture.

Lia: I am enjoying Lost Horizon and I appreciate hearing of it from you. The copy I'm reading was the only one on the library shelf and it's quite worn. They acquired it in April of 1961! Fortunately, all the words are readable so that's all that matters.

What a facility! Wish we had something like that here. It might blast me out of the woods. I just started reading "Old School" by Tobias Wolff and it kept me up way past my bedtime (yawn).

Sounds like a dream. I'd love to curl up by the fireplace with a good book, especially in a place as elegant an NorthPointe. The closest thing we have would be a Cracker Barrel Restaurant on a cold January day and well, if they are busy they run you out as soon as you take your last bite of toast.

Beth: NorthPointe is like a big magnet, drawing me in its direction four times a week without fail. I read "Old School" not long ago. I understand why you read past your normal bedtime!!

darksculptures: I have to be careful that I don't fall asleep since I'm a snorer. I wouldn't expect them to put up with that!!

Oh, I am jealous. Just to be able to sit and read in a quiet place. I'd have to rent a hotel room somewhere, turn my phone off. and hide.
Rest assured I'd be on the evening news. "Woman missing and her kids want something". :)

Good for you! Sometimes the well needs to be refilled.

I find I do my best writing after a few days of reading.

This place looks SO wonderful. And I would be fighting you for the chair next to the fireplace.

Ahhhhh....

Fiona: Thank you for visiting and commenting. My well definitely needs to be refilled.

Natasha: I'll gladly bring another chair near the fireplace for you.
