Shaddy's World

It's about time I offered a new post, don't you think? How about a hodgepodge of subjects with hopefully something of interest for everybody? (Or, nothing of interest to anybody?)

Subject #1: We'll be leaving soon for ten days on Siesta Key, FL. The challenge of packing is threatening to throw me into a tizzy, but so far I'm keeping my head above water. I've got piles of clothes, clothes on hangers-just hanging out, books, an audio book and portable CD player, a carry-on bag and an open suitcase awaiting my final decisions. I'm trying hard not to be overly concerned about the clothing I pack. That's what normally stresses me out the most. You see, what I'm wearing has a lot to do with how I feel. It's a pitiful state of affairs, but true.

Subject #2: I'm looking forward to kicking back this evening to watch the Academy Awards. (Yes, I'm already slipping into a vacation mode. Enduring the days before we head for Florida won't be pleasant for me and consequently won't be a picnic for my coworkers either, the poor dears).

Subject #3: I actually cooked something today that took more than five minutes to prepare, a tuna/macaroni casserole, to be exact, with sliced green olives to boot. Obviously, gourmet cooking isn't my thing! But, listen up. Miracle Whip mixed in with the other ingredients gives the casserole a better than average flavor and crushed potato chips on top are a sinful addition. We ate half today and the other half is in the refrigerator for dinner on Tuesday or Wednesday. Of course, it'll taste better after lounging there for a day or two.

Subject #4: I stuck to my rigid exercise plan and faithfully got in four workout sessions at NorthPointe this first week of March. When I joined in November, my weight was around 123 and now it hangs between 114 and 116. Yes!! (I'm sorry, Auntie Babe. I know you don't like my intense workouts but I can't seem to lighten up. It's in my blood you know. I'm another one of those stubborn Norwegians!)

That's the latest from Shaddy's world.

Totally obsessive, those workouts. Don't you worry about wearing out your aging joints? I think I need a nap.

Have a wonderful time on your vacation! Hopefully you will be able to leave any pressures behind and just relax! WOW - I haven't seen 116 in years! Looks like you have the perfect place to workout! Nothing like that here in the country! With spring approaching, Cris and I will be able to resume our morning walks - takes us an hour to walk around the "block"!

Oh gosh Shaddy you are a very busy lady, looks like you will need that holiday to slow you down a bit. Although I some how doubt it.
I should come over and do you packing for you, I do it for everyone and they call me the packing queen. I love seeing how much I can get into a small space and knowing how neatly it arrives at the other end.
Much love
Lia
xx

ps, dinner sounded nice.

Potato chips! I have to try that. It sounds delicious and a wee bit sinful all at the same time.

I bet you're excited about your trip. Spring is starting to arrive. The weather is beautiful this week. Cold in the morning and warm in the afternoon. You're going to love it!

Ahhhh, Florida. I've been thinking about it since November. Soooo happy you're getting outta here for a nice vacation! YAY you!

Your calendar and schedule completely overwhelm me, but I have to congratulate you on all of your accomplishments! Way to go Shaddy girl!!

Auntie Babe is glad you will be leaving your intense work outs, and No. Pointe for 10 days. I know the beaches will take place of some of your work outs. Have a great time and don't overpack, you know how you love to shop.
by Friday when you leave weather should be better in Fl. Be sure to just kick back and RELAX. Love & Kisses

Girlfriend, you need to learn how to relax. Put all those clothes back, throw a couple pairs of shorts and a few tee shirts in your 'case. Wear the red clogs. You're ready. Oh, don't forget the sunscreen and books---lots and lots of books.

Gully: Lucky me, I never have any trouble with my joints bothering me at all no matter how much exercising I do. I love clothes too much to pack as you suggested.

Parrot: A one hour walk is quite a trek! I hope you can start enjoying walks with Cris soon.

Lia: I'd love to have you do my packing for me. I'll miss my workouts when I'm gone although I'll take long walks on the beach and swim in the pool. You're right. I can't just sit and get fat.

darksculptures: What direction are you from Siesta Key? You're right; I'm gonna love getting away.

Sarie: I'll pack you in my suitcase; how's that sound?

Auntie Babe: Thanks for reminding me that I need to leave room in my suitcase for the stuff I buy! I have to do something while the guys are fishing and at pre-season ball games.

North and East - We're over on the other coast about half way up the state.

darksculptures: It'll be fun knowing we're much closer to each other than usual. I'll think of you when I'm looking in your direction.

Hey my busy lady, I liked this post! It's busy but alive and happy! xo

Shokoofeh: Long time no see! I hope you're enduring your country's problems the best way you can.

It's so unfair. No joint pain and you work out like that? I'm so jealous. At 37 I have arthritis in my knees, hips, and hands. I blame my mother. :(

I hope you have a nice time on your trip. I guess we won't hear much from you while you're gone. Be safe and try to relax.

I'm with Auntie Babe and Gully. Take the crocs, some shorts and t-shirts, and OF COURSE wait till you get there to buy that new swimsuit to show off your gorgeous body!

And books, lots of books. Have fun!!

dayner: I am lucky to have no joint pain. I'm sorry that you do. I'm debating whether I should take my laptop with me or not. If I do, I'll be able to keep you up-to-date on what I'm doing. And yet, it might be nice to focus on other things on vacation. I'll have to make a decision soon.

Natasha: If you think my body is gorgeous then it must be true. I know you wouldn't lie. I'll be strutting the beach with that thought in mind.

Sarie: "Take it easy, relax, enjoy...."

I'll do my best to follow your instructions. It sort of goes against my grain but I'll give it my best shot. I hope I can force myself to leave my computer home; I'm working at convincing myself that without it I'll focus on other things which is what a vacation is for. Wish me luck!
