In Two Weeks' Time

I took these first three pictures in late March, the 24th to be exact.

Take a look at our peony plant shortly after it broke through the ground last month.

With my camera in hand, I walked around the house today, April 11th. What I saw in March is barely recognizable only two weeks later!

Look at the peony plant now! (You may want to scroll up to compare the photos).

Lon's eyes were big as he wandered around the Garden Department at Home Depot today. He brought these purple flowers home...

...and this tulip plant.
*
Trust me, he's far from finished with gardening purchases. If he had a thousand dollars to spend on flowers, he'd do it in no time. The end results would be a beautiful sight to see, I can guarantee that.
*
The miracle of growth that occurs in early spring takes my breath away. Have you treated yourself to glimpses of these wonders of nature where you live?
*
(I invite you to seek out my previous post, wherein I wrote of the amazing arrival of APRIL, 2010. Get a glimpse of her quickly since she won't be tarrying with us for long).

Lenore: I'm not the gardener; merely the photographer and commentator. Lon's so much more efficient than I am. He'd have the project finished before I could get down on my knees.

Shaddy please can I borrow Lon to tend my garden!!!!!!! It's a mess!!!

It's wonderful watching Spring burst through. I've never thought of actually photo-ing the plants as they grow through the ground, how very clever of you.

much love

Your tender spring beginnings made me smile. :) This is my favorite time of year.

Lia: I'll send him over right away. I'm not sure when he'll arrive. He'll have to drive to the Atlantic and then swim from there to England. Oh, I nearly forgot. He doesn't like to swim at all. Sorry.

I took several more pictures today after I posted these of buds on trees and newly emerged tender plant stalks poking from the ground. I hope to continue with taking pictures as they grow and change. It'll be fun.

darksculptures: Yay! Smiles are good. :)

I love springtime too! It is wonderful to watch for new signs of life from the garden and around the house. Clematis is starting to green up and a few flowers are looking to open. Rhodies and azaleas have some color and will be beautiful in a week. Peonies are up and look like your picture. Thanks for the tour!

Wow! You've got lots of beauty surrounding you where you live. And it's only going to get better for all of us as the weeks go by.

You're welcome for the tour.

Lia: I've been trying to leave comments on your blog but it's not accepting them for some reason. I'm sure that's why you haven't been hearing from anyone lately. Good luck with getting things straightened out.

My Lilac tree is in full bloom! It's my favorite. Maybe if the rain stops I can go sit under it and write--or read. :)
Thanks for sharing your garden, tell Lon he's welcome to work around my yard anytime.

I love the smell of lilacs, I mean, really love it. After reading your comment, I peeked out the front window at our neighbor's lilac bushes; no lilac blossoms yet. I hope you do get a chance to sit under your lilac tree; if that doesn't inspire you I don't know what will. Enjoy!!
