Let's Jive To June's Tune

As usual, it happened in an instant. May exited quietly and June took center stage. I noticed a slight nod between the two of them as they passed each other with their satchels bulging with weekdays and weekends. I felt bad momentarily when I realized that they never get the chance to pause, visit for a little while and compare notes.

Well, well, well. We've been living and breathing for five full months so far this year. If we'd kept a daily journal, we'd have 151 entries, each one telling a mini-story of our activities and thoughts during that specific 24-hour period.

If all goes well, we'll all be living and breathing for the next seven months of this year. Our 2010 journal or calendar still holds 214 blank pages or daily calendar squares. We can look ahead and make notes of what we'd like to do with the time we have ahead of us or we can just let the days come and go and see what we're moved to accomplish, or not. Jobs and other necessary evils may demand a quantity of our time but some hours most likely will be open to our own choices. No matter what we do or don't do this year, inevitably, 2011 will barge in the moment December expires whether we're ready for it or not.

The upcoming 30 days are pleasantly beckoning us to come on in or looming threateningly like a cloud over our heads, depending on our outlooks and situations.

Let's rally our reserves to make June a time we can cherish and admire when we look back on it. If we find ourselves merely cruising through this month without a single plan, let's make sure we smile, laugh, sit quietly, ponder fond memories and make at least one new one.

Sounds like a lovely idea!
We need to laugh & smile more often...ponder & dream too~

LENORE: I think I'll start perceiving my wrinkles as smile lines. Perhaps I'll cringe less when I look in the mirror.

Hi Cheryl! I was thinking about you guys today and thought I'd check out your blog. Your pictures are great! That running path looks really pretty. It makes me tired just thinking about running 3 miles :) I hope things are going well with you. Miss you!

STEPHANIE: Wow! Is it ever good to hear from you! Thanks for coming here and commenting. We all miss you too. We finally have an assistant who is working out quite well. She started last week.

I hope all is well with you, Tim and Jake. I have Jake's picture on the bulletin board with Lon and Jared's pictures. I imagine he's changed a lot since that photo was taken.

I'm hoping to bike today but I'm not sure the weather is going to cooperate.

Have a great weekend. I hope to hear from you again soon.
