Bar Hopping Again!

A couple of days ago, I received this e-mail from Crystal in marketing at Edy's. She was informing me that I could expect the fruit bar certificates she had promised me via UPS 1st class mail! Cool! I was pleased to know they'd be here soon and I was surprised that she'd taken the time to e-mail me again.

Sure enough, on Friday, I received not one, two, or three, but FOUR certificates for free packages of Edy's Fruit Bars.

I'm impressed and delighted with these tokens of appreciation for featuring their fruit bars on my blog post titled Shaddy Hits The Bars.

I'd anticipated getting one or two certificates which would have been just hunky. When I counted four, I smiled big, my mouth started watering and I hopped up and down with glee. Edy's Fruit Bars are my favorite treat this summer; I have at least two everyday from my ever-present selection of grape, pomegranate and strawberry flavors.

I'd like to share the "fruits" of my good fortune. The first two readers who respond to this post will each win a certificate. Please e-mail your mailing address to me at paintit2@charter.net and I'll send them out right away.

Well, if I thought they actually sold them in Alaska, I'd enter. Oh, wait.

Vanessa - Check to see if you have Dreyers Fruit Bars, as they are called "west of the Rockies". I googled it when Shaddy first mentioned them and found out we have them in Oregon, but they are called Dreyers Fruit Bars here. PS - I'm sure they taste just as good!

And Gully too!

How fun and generous of you to share your windfall. I haven't tried the pomegranate yet, but I've gone through a box of grape - yum! - and started on the strawberry.

HEY Y'ALL: Hmm...this is a bit more complicated than I anticipated.

I noticed dreyers.com on the e-mail from Crystal and in fine print on the certificates. I think Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream is Edy's parent company.

I don't know if an Edy's certificate can be used toward Dreyer's fruit bars. I kind of doubt it.

Oh well, I'll sit tight until I hear from Gully and Vanessa again.

KATHAN: Bummer. The early bird gets the worm. A day late and a dollar short. I'm not helping matters at all, am I!

Well, better luck next time.

LENORE: I'm glad you're feeling well enough to enjoy a good laugh. I always enjoy commenting on your blog, you know that!

Pass my winning certificate on to someone who knows they can get them. Even if I bought some, they'd be fruit juice by the time I got them a hundred miles home. I hereby pass my certificate forward.

Hugs, Gully

GULLY: Hugs to you for graciously passing your certificate forward.

PARROT: You're the third person to comment on this post, thus, I offer the certificate to you! Do you think it'll get you a free box of Dreyer's fruit bars?

The retailer reimbursement directions in small print on each certificate mention Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, Inc. three times.

I'll let you decide if you'd like me to send you the certificate. Perhaps you could ask at the store where you shop if they'd honor the Edy's certificate. The certificates don't expire until 12/31/10 so we've got plenty of time.

I'll wait to hear from you before I act; although I may "act up" at the first opportunity that presents itself. Like when Lon gets home! I always greet him in a way that makes him laugh.

I hereby bequeath my winnings back to YOU! I am still slurping on my box of dreyers pomagranant fruit bars.

Cheryl Peters said...

PARROT: Alrighty then. You're not supposed to eat the box, for goodness sake! I know the picture on the front looks tempting but...

Sorry, I couldn't hold back from teasing you. I'll go ahead and pass the certificate on to Jana.

JANA: You're next in line. Certificate #1 goes to you. I have your address and will put it in the mail tomorrow. Enjoy.

I used my two certificates today to get lime and grape bars. The lime bars were kind of bitter, just like limes, imagine that?! I can't say I love that flavor after my first bar but it's definitely refreshing.

VANESSA: Please e-mail me if you'd like a certificate and I'll send it to you. Otherwise, I'll check to see who's next in line.

Thanks.

Yay! I would like to thank all the members of the academy that made this possible. Without all of you I wouldn't be here accepting this award. I will be sure to share with you how tasty they are!

Thanks, Shaddy!

Yes, Jana, we like you. We re-e-e-e-ally like you.

Cheryl Peters said...

JANA: Hurray! I didn't realize how hard it would be to give something away!

GULLY: Aw shucks. Curses, foiled again. I want everyone to like ME, reeeallly like ME. I mean, sheesh, who's the one giving stuff away!! :):):):)

Sorry I missed out on the early action here!

I have to admit the coconut ones are my faves -- that's right, the ones with 3 times as many calories as the rest!

Congrats to the winners -- who I take to be ALL of us. This was fun to follow!

I am so glad I stopped by here tonight, even if I missed the giveaway. It's been a heckuva week and a looming dentist appt tomorrow (eeeek!!!) and yet I find myself giggling away after catching up on my Paper Cut Screams reading.

Thanks Shaddy and friends, you're the best!
Love,
Sarie

KATHAN: Vanessa can't use the certificate so it goes to you!

I'll be looking for your mailing address in my e-mail box.

I hope you enjoy the fruit bars.
