Summer Sounds, Scents, Fresh Air & Snores

For too many consecutive weeks this summer, we've been dealing with heat and humidity. I can't even remember when we first closed up the house and turned on the air conditioning. We've missed a good share of the sounds, scents and fresh air that we normally associate with summer months.

A recent, welcome drop in the temperature and humidity has finally allowed us to let the fresh air in. Today, we slid open the doors to the screen porch and to the deck, cranked out and raised windows in the den, living room and bedroom and took long overdue deep breaths.

I'm looking forward to sleeping tonight with the cool night air passing over us as it circulates between the bedroom windows.

This evening, I'm loving the sounds of birds and breezes dancing with leaves, the scent of summer rain and the pleasure that comes from breathing natural air.

Yes! I'm in for a heck of a good night's sleep. It's a shame that the rest of the neighborhood won't enjoy the same treat. If my snoring doesn't wake them, the rattling walls will!

I AM ALIVE: It's so good to hear from you. I did have a splendid night's rest last night. I hope you're doing well way over there in India.

Ummm....I love open windows! Still too hot here in the southland. Breathe for me, okay?

Heat index at my house = 102 = windows closed & air on. I hope it cools off soon.

NATASHA: Tell me when you've had enough. I'm getting lightheaded!

DARKSCULPTURES: Oh my! That's a shame. Ninety degree heat index would be a break for you!

I'm taking a deep breath of our 75degree high today for you all. Coastal high clouds this morning, sun this afternoon. A great 3mi walk this am and a "leisurely stroll" with my mom this afternoon were heaven. Hope your highs taper off and you can all open your windows like Ms Shaddy.

Anyone wanna trade houses for a while. You just can't imagine how well you sleep in 50 degree air...

Was that what I heard the other night?
I can't wait to open my windows and have a nice cool breeze blow through.
I hope my neighbors can handle it.

PARROT: Your weather sounds excellent and your walks too. Our windows are closed again after one night with them open. Twas nice if only for a short time.

GULLY: A mixture of your temps and ours would be perfect.

JANA: I wouldn't be surprised if what you heard was me! Lon wears ear plugs at night so he can get some sleep.

Shaddy, snoring is much better than my 'teeth grinding!'
