Putting My One Cent In

I know, I know.  My blog title doesn't have the ring of "putting my two cents in," but you'll soon understand why I chose it.

On my most recent walk in our neighborhood, I found this penny on the pavement.  I could have stepped over it, but Benjamin Franklin's words rang in my ears, "A penny saved is a penny earned."

As I peered down at the solitary coin, I also thought of a container in my bedroom closet where I occasionally toss my change.  (I haven't added to it recently because I routinely use my debit card).  That settled it. I stooped over and snatched up the penny.  It's saved in my closet and I earned it by walking.

I suspect it's been unnoticed and run over for years.

I'm curious.  When you see a penny underfoot, what do you do?  If you usually pass it by, will you do differently now?
Please say yes.  I'm on a one-day mission to change behavior.

Honestly, I always pick them up, though I'm not sure why. Maybe for good luck? I have a little pottery jar I always put them in too.

Cute post dear :) I like.

Happy weekend!

SARIE: Picking up pennies for good luck, I like that. Put on a sweatshirt and enjoy the day!! :)

That poor little penny needed a rescuer. I'm sure Abe was happy that you showed up.
I pick them up sometimes and sometimes I leave them. But, I almost always think how fortunate we are to live in such prosperity that we'll just leave money laying around on the ground.
Yeah, I know--I'm a little weird like that.

JANA: That's not weird; it's rather amazing indeed. When we were kids, we would fight over it. A penny could buy a piece of candy. Back in the good old days!

Yay! I can see the post button again.

Find a penny pick it up -
if it's heads up you'll have
good luck!

Or however that goes. I'm a change horde, if I see it on the floor, it's mine, mine, mine!

DARKSCULPTURES: When I was changing my template and choosing colors for the text and so on, the color for some text blended in with the background. That's why some text wasn't visible. Duh!! I changed the text color to dark brown and life is good again. Except that my gadgets aren't visible to my readers although I can see them on my computer if I fuss and fight for a spell!!!

Hopefully it wasn't my comment you had to delete!

PARROT: I didn't see a comment from you on this post. I surely wouldn't delete it.

I was testing my comment box earlier. I typed "TESTING" in the box and then after seeing that it worked, I deleted it.

Did you post something that didn't show up here? I hope I'm not going to have trouble with this too!!
