Do I Look Puzzled?

I can't stay away from Staples.  Fortunately, I am a wise shopper when I stroll the aisles.  If an item isn't clearance priced, I don't pay any attention to it.  Really, I'm not interested in paying Staples' extravagant prices for items I can buy at a reasonable cost right across the street.

Before I started writing regularly, I worked crosswords puzzles frequently.  I'd gotten away from them until I found this "posh crosswords" book which caught my eye and then winked at me from a clearance shelf.  I picked it up, admiring its flirty cover.  At half price, I had to have it.

It fits nicely into an outer pocket of my purse so it can go everywhere with me.  I may get into the habit of spending at least five or ten minutes exercising my brain beside the fireplace at NorthPointe after my body workouts.

Are you a sucker for cute things?

Unfortunately, yes. Especially notebooks. Not so much figurines, though. Not my style. But cute covers on spiral notebooks, journals, albums, etc., I am putty in their.... bindings.

You love crosswords too? Me too! Of course I do - cuz I seem to like to copy you, my friend :) That's a very pretty little book.
I love when you go to Staples, you always find the coolest stuff Shaddy.

Sucker for cute things? Like you? Of course!

I'm not into crosswords, but I would have picked this up as a notebook...

GULLY: Me too. I can pass the cute figurines by without hesitating, whereas, when it comes to unique paper products, my knees knock and my hands start twitching and reaching.

LENORE: I finished crossword #3 in the book this afternoon by the fireplace at NorthPointe as I'd planned. I must admit, the solution key pages are getting plenty of wear!

LIA!!!!: I'm SO pleased to have you back here. I've thought of you often over the months you've been away. Will you be posting to your blog again? Please, please keep in touch.

SARIE: I can't imagine how many crossword books I've filled over the years!! They're a great time filler even if for only a few minutes at a time.

I'm not a bit surprised that you love them too. I've learned not to let myself get too frustrated. I just take a quick peek at the solution. (I'm not proud!)

Just holding the cute "posh crosswords" book makes me happy.

Did you see that Lia's back?

NATASHA: I've accumulated so many colorful composition notebooks that I'm motivated to do some journaling. I'm getting up earlier to write.

Not a fan of crosswords? They can be very frustrating, that's no joke!

Luckily we don't have a Staples in my city - I have to drive an hour to find one. I'm a Walmart shopper now (never thought I'd say that, but it's true!) And they do have some great deals that require perusal. My purchases tend to be pencils, notepads, files, and plants.

PARROT: Walmart has great prices. I have to mention that I have a ball at the Dollar Tree!!! I bought some bags of Pretzel Crisps for $1 each (of course, since everything in the store sells for $1 or less) that sell for $2.99 at the grocery store. Their expiration date is 3/11. How cool is that? I bought 4 bags.

Also, Clear Eyes eyedrops that sell for $4.99 at Shopko were $1!!

Greeting cards at 2 for $1 and tons of other items are available at the Dollar Tree. I almost feel guilty shopping there, like I'm getting way too much for my money!!

SARIE: I'm loving it! I need a head start with all those candles to light!

You're so sweet. You warm my heart every single time I think of you or hear from you.

Love you, Sarie.

ELIZABETH: Posh is always good isn't it!!
