A Reflective Moment Quotation

My friend, Sarie, gave me a beautiful Reflective Moments book, a collection of quotations and images for contemplation.

The first entry is:

The moment one gives close
attention to anything,
even a blade of grass,
it becomes a mysterious, awesome,
indescribably magnificent world in itself.

Henry Miller (1891-1980)

Thank you, Sarie.  I'll be sharing more of these in the many months ahead.  The book has twenty-three quotations and accompanying photos so I'll have monthly blog posts featuring them for two years.  Yay!  As Sarie suggested, they'll also make good prompts for my journaling.

SARIE: I woke up very early and kept looking at the clock. Since I'm 62 years old today, when 6:22 popped up on my digital clock, it only seemed right to hop to it right then and there!!! Crazy, huh?? That's me for sure.

I love my new book and beautiful card. I'm looking forward to enjoying both for years to come. You spoil me rotten; please don't ever stop!

Love,
Shaddy

I can't stop! :) It's too much fun!

OMG, I didn't even put the 6:22 and the 62 together. DUH to me. Yeah, that is quite a coincidence! Too cool though.

I'm so glad the sun is shining on your day. What a relief!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOU DARLING LADY.

I hope the day brings you everything that you deserve and so much more and it's good to hear that the sun is shinning for you.

As for you being 62, I refuse to believe it someone who has such a young and vibrant spirit as you should not be marked by numbers.

Have a wonderful day darling
Much love
Lia

SARIE: Thanks for stopping in again. I'm not surprised you didn't get why I got up at 6:22. No one in their right mind would!

With you around, I don't even need sunshine; you provide it!

LENORE: A blade of grass and paper cut...hmmm...I didn't connect those. Thanks for your close attention!!!

Blade of grass and 6:22? Strange what goes on in our subconscious self that eludes us until it bops us in the forehead. Happy B-Day, Shaddy.

And many more :)

LIA: I agree with you. Ages are just numbers and we mustn't let ourselves be anything less than our best no matter how many years we've stacked up.

It's 8:44PM and I've had a wonderful day, much better than I deserve but I'm savoring every moment.

Thanks for sharing in my day, Lia.

GULLY: Thanks for your attention in the form of birthday wishes. Strange things are going on in my conscious mind as well as my unconscious. Perhaps it's senility creeping in and attempting to set up camp. If so, I'll grab the demon by the scruff of its neck and toss it out in a snowbank.

PARROT: You're so right: Sixty-two has a wonderful ring to it. I'm glad to be on board with you. Look out world!!! Thank you for sharing my day.

NATASHA: 62 and on steroids I'll have you know!! Had root canal therapy on Tuesday afternoon and the good doctor put me on Dexamethasone, a corticosteroid. I'm enjoying a pain-free birthday week, feeling foot loose and fancy free! (Dang, I've only 3 pills left).

Yes, ma'am. I was up at 6:22 and into my red boots by 7:10!

Thanks for coming to see me today!!

ANNIE: January birthdays are really quite nice, aren't they? I think I'd hate the month otherwise, you know, it would be a let down after the holidays.

Here's to the 4th and 20th of this great month!!!!!

Thank you for you!

Ooohh steroids - take advantage of that extra boost of energy, then plan a good long nap when they leave!

PARROT: You're so right about the energy boost. I've been flying high since Tuesday but take my last pill today. I expect I may be napping tomorrow, hopefully not during the Packer/Bear game!!!
