Nature Is Back From Her Winter Vacation

As I was doing yard work yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised by this colorful display along the south side of our house.  Lon told me these are wildflowers.  Seeing them prompted me to search for new growth in other places in our yard.

I found several plantings with new growth hiding under stray leaves and bark chips.  I uncovered the tender green new beginnings and promised all of them that I'll revisit them again and again during the spring, summer and fall months.

I know I'll be astounded over the next several days and weeks as nature goes to work with her inspirational touches, paint brush and color palette.

STEPHANIE: I used to spend a lot of time caring for the flowers and other plants in our yard and then I got away from it for several years. I hope to take a greater interest again this year.

I bet Jake is loving spring too and being outside.

It's great to see evidence of spring just around the corner. Now if this darned rain would just stop long enough for some plain ol' sunshine, they could really put on a show! Just got back from two weeks vacation and the trees and tulips have appeared in out yard. Yeah!!
