Alaska Journal #6: Our Tour Through the Ship Kitchen

Oops!  This isn't the kitchen.  This is the Lido restaurant omelet station where Lon put in an order every morning.

This IS the kitchen.

How about all that shiny stainless steel?

They specially ordered this cheese from Monroe, Wisconsin, for Lon and me.  We truly appreciated that.

For room service?

Whoa...no cherries?

Reminds me of this:  Old Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard to get her poor dog and bone.  When she got there, the cupboard was bare, so the poor dog had none.  (Sorry, it's getting late).

Rules, rules, they're everywhere.

Amazing creations for food presentations.

Fancy handiwork.

I don't remember how many meals are made in these kitchens every day, but you can be sure the number is mind boggling.

That was kind of fun, wasn't it?  Tune in tomorrow for more news of our cruise.

Special ordering of cheese (for you and Lon) from Monroe Wisconsin .. are you serious? IF you are .. THAT IS AMAZING. Talk about going-to-any-length for their passengers. Talk about an amazing culinary preparation kitchen and environs! Hard to fathom the logistics! I had to jump ahead here to get-into-the-swing of your trip. I came in here a day-late-and-a-dollar short. Smiles from Cap and Patti ..

I'm tickled pink to hear from you. I was hoping you'd come here to read about our trip. If I didn't hear from you soon, I was going to go looking for you on Gully's blog.

I shouldn't stretch the truth like I did about the cheese!! I don't normally do that. I must have been in a playful mood when I added the caption to that photo. Being a cheesehead doesn't help matters??!!

Thanks again for visiting.

Rumor has it...cruise ships have food 24/7. Is that true? Looks like it was absolutely delicious!

ANNIE: If not in a dining room, I'm quite sure you could order room service 24/7.
