Alaska Journal #26: Motorcoach Sights North of Moose Pass, South of Anchorage

Gully spends hours voluntarily cleaning the litter from along this highway, trying her best to keep Alaska beautiful.

When she pauses, she has all of this to look at.

Gully owned a restaurant, bar and motel here in Alaska for many years.

I'll be quiet now so we can enjoy the beauty of Gully's Alaska.

I could jump for joy along with this girl in pink.  When I settle down, I'll share some more.

Hey, I recognize those places! I get a big laugh when people ask me what I was busted for when they see me picking up litter along the road. So you went into Portage Glacier, huh? Can't wait to see where else you've been.

Remember when your coach stopped along Summit Lake? You have several photos of it in this post. Early one morning (like 5 AM), I saw a beautiful blonde brown bear cross the highway, swim across the lake, and wander through the campground on the other side. The sun caught the blonde hairs on the bear and turned it golden. Magnificent sight.

GULLY: Picking litter does seem like a punishment!!!

Seeing the blonde brown bear sounds like a magnificent sight for sure!!!! Especially with the sun giving the hairs a golden glow.

You deserve to see glorious sights with your many years of faithfulness to all things Alaskan!! Including the hard work of litter picking.
