Mentally Strong Challenge #5: Don't Worry About Pleasing Others

This is #5 on a list titled: MENTALLY STRONG PEOPLE: THE 13 THINGS THEY AVOID

"Know any people pleasers? Or, conversely, people who go out of their way to dis-please others as a way of reinforcing an image of strength? Neither is a good one. A mentally strong person strives to be kind and fair and to please others where appropriate, but is unafraid to speak up. They are able to understand the possibility that someone will get upset and will navigate the situation, wherever possible, with grace."

(Credit for this list goes to Forbes Contributor David Williams and Amy Morin, a licensed social worker and writer).

I posted challenges #1 through #4 in early 2014. They were the following DON'TS:

1.  Waste time feeling sorry for themselves.
2.  Give away their power.
3.  Shy away from change.
4.  Waste energy on things they can't control.

I will post #6 next month.

I wish you the best if you choose to consciously work on these challenges. I will. I love challenges.

Another way to put this issue of people pleasing is a well known line that goes as follows": I can't give up me to be loved by you!

Further reinforcement is this maxim: I cannot be all things to all people in all places at all times. IF I try I will be nothing to anyone.

Good to see you mix things up a little here on your site Shaddy.
