May I Spend Moments in May With You?

Hey, hey, hey, it's May Day.

Do you remember scampering across the grass to leave baskets of sweets on neighbors' porches, hoping you weren't seen? Do you remember the excitement you felt when you found similar baskets on your own porch from the kids next door or across the road?

Those were the days, the days of simple pleasures. When I look back over the years to May Days long ago, I see a filtered, pretty version of those times. I imagine we argued over who received the biggest basket and about who we imagined each one was from. Even so, I enjoy a peek into the past. Each new month offers a look ahead, as well, a sense of another opportunity to begin again.

Today, the days of April are memories and those of May lie still on our calendars, awaiting our individual sets of footprints. I happily anticipate that our paths will intersect in the days ahead and as always we'll make each others' month just a little bit nicer.
