Our Hospitable Chipmunk

We added this colorful and whimsical mushroom to our backyard decor last week.  On Saturday morning, I was tickled to see that our resident chipmunk took time in his busy day to be the first to make our newcomer feel welcome.

Aren't they the cutest!!

  3. Auntie Babe does not think they are cute, last year when your Uncle was washing windows in storm]
door a chipmunk got in the house, scared me to death. It took Allen a long time to get it out while I was locked in the bedroom. I just think of them as a rodent. but that's me , i know our neighbor feeds them.

  4. Very neat pic! I can imagine him waiting till your not looking so he can begin construction on a new home .. little windows, chimney, and tiny welcome mat!

  6. Oh, he (she?) is so cute. We have squirrels, but no chipmunks here. I like what Rob said.

  8. AUNTIE BABE: My goodness! I suspect I wouldn't like them much either if I'd had a chipmunk running loose in my house. Good grief!! I'd have been upset too. They're so quick in all their movements, I can't imagine how Allen got it back outside. Hurray, Allen!!

ROB: I love your imagination! I can just see the little critter making a home out of our mushroom.

NATASHA: So glad you enjoyed the photo.

BETH: We have chipmunks and squirrels, way too many of the latter!! Rob's clever indeed!!

STEPHANIE: We found the mushroom at Menard's and both of us agreed we should bring it home.

Were you ever able to mow your grass during one of Jake's naps? I read on FB about your attempt a few days ago. ;)

  9. No I wasn't. I guess I'm just getting old and weak! I could always start it before :/ Tim can mow it himself, I just wanted to help. He'll just have to fix our rider!
