Second Chances

                                                                      The day misspent,
                                                                      the love misplaced,
                                                                      has inside it
                                                                      the seed of redemption.
                                                                     Nothing is exempt
                                                                     from resurrection.

                                                                           Kay Ryan

In other words, if you didn't tell me you love me today, you can do it tomorrow.

NaNoWriMo or ThiOnDaChe?

I received the following quote in my e-mail inbox today:

The starting point of all achievement is DESIRE. Keep this constantly in mind. Weak desire brings weak results, just as a small fire makes a small amount of heat.
Napoleon Hill

I also received an e-mail from my Aunt Babe today.  This is what she wrote:
Are you really going to try that writing event again? That sure seems like a big task.

Would you not rather sit back and relax with a glass of wine?

Based on the quote from the Goodreads website (which reminds me of my lack of writing desire) and the loving advice from my Aunt Babe, I've decided to participate in ThiOnDaChe instead of undertaking NaNoWriMo.

I've written three 50,000 word books over the past three Novembers, thus, I think it's time to move on.  I'm determined to kick back, leave the writing to others and put my heart into ThiOnDaChe, that is, Thirty-One Days of Cheer.

May I direct your eyes to the photo above.  Thanks to Babe, my laptop will remain closed to intense writing in November, while this wine bottle, and many more, will be popped open and enjoyed.

                                                            CHEERS!

Considering NaNoWriMo

I haven't been doing any creative writing for what seems like forever.  I haven't even had the urge.  National Novel Writing Month is coming up in a week and a half.  For the past three years, I've participated, along with thousands of writers across the nation, in a quest to write a 50,000 word novel in one month.  I wonder if I should undertake the challenge again.

I have no ideas burning within me or even flickering shyly anywhere within reach.  The exciting thing for me is just sitting down and writing and seeing where my thoughts take me.  Always, from nothing comes something.

In the past NaNoWriMo challenges, I've found that an hour and a half of writing every day does the trick.  That's not an unreasonable chunk of time.

In conclusion, if I can come up with a "novel" idea, who knows where I may travel in the month of November and how I might get there.

One Book. One Potato Chip. Two Impossibilities.

A Goodreads Quote of the Day:
"Reading one book is like eating one potato chip."

My New Favorite Wine

Lon picked out this bottle of wine at the grocery store on Sunday.

Yoohoo!

Right out of the gate, I'm trotting along with a new must-have wine.

Cheers!
