Eat Like A Bird

These visitors to my birdfeeder had MUCH to say.

"
"Have you no manners, lady?  Can't you see I'm eating here?"

"What the heck?  If you'd hold your horses for a minute!"

"Think it's funny?  You ever try eating with a beak and no lips?"

"Watch this guys.  I'll stare her down."

"Could you have the courtesy to cut this stuff into smaller pieces next time?  In case you haven't noticed, I ain't the Great American Eagle!"

"Aw fellows, give her a break.  She ain't so bad."

"Okay, shoot.  All my friends say this is my best side.  I have my father's strong jaw line."

"Of all days to leave the nest without makeup!"

"Oh, for Pete's sake.  I DO have a face, sweetie!"

"Good grief, she's made me lose my appetite."

"Now, see what you've done?  Are you happy now, Party Pooper?"

Could I Be Taking Scrabble Too Seriously?

When I started playing online Scrabble (better known as WORDS WITH FRIENDS on Facebook), it was just me and my laptop.

My sister-in-law came up with some rather unusual words in my games with her.  When Jill played the word-bowyer, I couldn't stand it any longer.  "How are you coming up with words like that?" I asked her.  She told me.  Thanks to amazon.com, I quickly acquired my own copy of The Official Scrabble Players Dictionary.

Oh.  I couldn't resist the Everything Scrabble book offered on the same amazon.com webpage.

I quickly tired of paging through the Scrabble books to find the lists of two and three letter words, two to five letter words containing J, Q, X or Z and so on and so forth.

I made copies of the word lists and put them in these plastic sleeves.

Those of you who know me well probably aren't terribly surprised.  I rarely do anything in moderation.  If I'm going to do something, by golly, I go at it with a vengeance.

I have twenty games going with nearly twenty different players.  I've tried to add more but am informed that I'm not allowed more than twenty games at a time.  Imagine that!

What can I say?  That's Shaddy for you.

Unmotivated

Only last year, I was extremely motivated.  Motivated enough to compete in a triathlon.  Yup, that's me with my biking, swimming and running gear.

Lately, I can't seem to stir up enough motivation to post something of interest here on my blog.  Thus, I'm borrowing from the past to gain attention today.

I guess that's not all bad, or is it?

(I've been raking leaves in my spare time over the past few weeks.  There's not a lot to write about that!)

Dis & Dat

I found these rustic pencils at a little shop in Door County.  The acorns were scattered under our Pin Oak tree in the backyard.  I love bringing the outdoors back inside with me.

Scrabble Scramble

I'm hooked on online Scrabble.  I'm not sure when I'll wiggle myself free.

What are you doing these days with your play time?
