Looky, Looky, May Is Here!

May means many things to many people.  Folks celebrate birthdays, Mother's Day, Memorial Day and the many simple joys the spring season offers.

May comes with a full load of 31 days for you to fill with work, play and everything in between.

I'd like to wish a very Happy Birthday to those on my list of May birthdays.

Natasha is a friend I've enjoyed since I started blogging.
Jeanne and I have been friends for many, many years.
My sweet friend, Stephanie, worked with me until she became a mother.
My Aunt Marcie is in her nineties and still beautiful.

Don't you just love this flower watercolor?

Mother's Day, on the 8th, is early in the month this year.

I adore this cute painting.  Do you remember May Day and running with May baskets to neighbors' porches, ringing the doorbell and sneaking away?  What simple fun that was!

May I add another idea?  "Kick them off and wiggle your toes."

Thanks for the beautiful intro to May. I'm looking forward more sunshine and much warmer temperatures! So are my plants. Hope your May is blessed with good health, good friends and good weather.

PARROT: Our weather goes up and down constantly although mostly it's down. Yesterday was rather nice and now today it's much cooler and windy.

I hope your month of May is everything you could want it to be. How did you do in the writing contest?

hey Shaddy..
How are you ?
May is the most detested month here in India.. Scorching heat.. Plus humidity in Mumbai makes it really messy with all the sweat, prickly heat and heat rashes... Ohh god, it's just 1st day of May and look how much I have cribbed :)
Have a nice May ahead...

I AM ALIVE: I'm sorry to hear that you're in the midst of scorching weather. I've been cold all day. I don't like that but I wouldn't want to be in your shoes either.

It's so nice to hear from you. I hope other than the weather, all is well with you.

Have a great week!

Happy Birthday to everyone in Shaddy's datebook!

What a beautiful painting this month!

I hope May is wonderful for you dear. I'll be wishing some warmer temps your (our) way! April was brutal, I'm glad it's gone! LOL!

Love,
Sarie

P.S. Is it ok for hubby to drop off that book at your house Wed? He has a meeting at the hospital and can leave it for you if you'd like....

SARIE: May just HAS to be better than April. It was ugly for sure!!

If Russ will drop the book off, I'll be more than grateful!! He can put it on the back porch.

Thank you to both of you!! I'm so lucky to have friends like the two of you.

Have a great day and awesome week!!

I love the idea, but around here May is when the mosquitoes and biting flies attack people when they try to take an afternoon walk to the gate. . .

Why thank you Shaddy! And happy May to you! We've been having fabulous weather - avoided all the nasty stuff other parts of the south have suffered, and we're still in open window weather. Pretty soon it will be too warm and muggy for that and we will be thankful for AC.

Honeysuckle and jasmine are blooming EVERYWHERE so inhaling the air is a real treat!

BETH: It's a shame that pesky insects can spoil the things we love to do. We have a large screen porch that is a wonderful summer haven, keeping mosquitoes and such away from us.

Happy May, anyway!!

NATASHA: Thank God you weren't touched by the tornadoes and instead are savoring the scent of the honeysuckle and jasmine. I discovered last week that daffodils smell much like lilacs, and I love lilacs.

Happy May, once again.

April showers brought us not just showers but flooding and tornadoes, though thankfully, me and mine weren't harmed. May looks to be more intense! But still, I love this time of year - the thunder and lightning are a beautiful chorus singing the praises of the one who created them :)

Thanks for including me in your post, Cheryl! We should get together soon and go for lunch.
I'm looking forward to Mother's Day. My mom and I will probably get together and plant flowers. I love this time of the year!
Tim will be with his parents up north fishing this weekend. I'm glad he can get some of his fishing energy out without me :) Hope all is well with you, Lon and Jared. Happy Mother's Day!
