SK on 12/20/12

We had dinner here yesterday at one of our favorite places.
The outdoor dining area at Sharky's.
Another shot of the same.  It's pretty quiet here at Sharky's and everywhere else.  I suspect Saturday will bring many more holiday vacationers.
I love this tree formed from beach balls and netting.  Perfect for a FL Christmas tree.
Mr. Sharky himself.  Snappy dresser, no?

Back at the beach.  You forgot the beach chairs again??!!!!
I love pelicans.  They aren't the most graceful birds but they have some awesome characteristics.

They're big but flying and diving is not a problem.
Three in one shot.  Yay!
It took me a while but eventually I succeeded in catching the pelicans in motion.

Lift off.
I heard him exclaim ere he flew out of sight, "Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night."

SK on Wednesday

Our balcony view this morning.
We saw a couple of kids on paddle boards go by.
Three dolphin were swimming close to these paddle boards.  How exciting that must have been.
Another view from the balcony.
Looking north from beach in front of the condo complex.
Looking south.
Lots of things wash up on the sand.  Thousands of shells and even a few of what I like to say are cigars that drifted up from Cuba.  :)
If I had a good memory, I could give these shells their proper names.  Instead, I'll name them Sally and Joe!
That's the condo complex from the beach.
College kids doing their thing.  Not one burial but six!!!

One more beach bum.

This evening's post sunset sight.
The beachside deck.
The sunset from the pool area.

It's less than a week until Christmas.  I hope you're all in the Christmas spirit, cherishing the moments of each and every day.

A Week Before Christmas

Photo worthy sights on our way to the beach.
This little guy is sporting an unusual pattern.

Parasailing is one way to get up in this world.

Good morning to you pretty thing!

Sleeping in is allowed here.  Take your time.

A sandman who looks an awful lot like a snowman.

It's hard to resist singing along so instead I joined in.  "We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year."
This pair is people watching.  I wonder what they think?

Cute, aren't they?
A Christmas ferris wheel, why not!!

All aboard!!!!
I hope you're all well as you prepare for Christmas.  Enjoy the beauty and spirit of the season.

Come See SK

We're addicted to SK sunsets.  You'll see that in the next few moments.
Thank God for cameras.
Lon likes our rental car, a Honda Civic.
I can't stop taking sunset pictures.
The colors yesterday were amazing; every shade of yellow, orange and pink showed up.
Long after the sun set, we watched the panoramic sky.
Here's Jared, returning from fishing from the Gulf shoreline.
A close-up shot of a cormorant
These critters are abundant but elusive.
Here's Jared again.
The water is a comfortable temperature for wading.  Jared was in up to his waist while fishing but wetting my feet was as far as I got.
The red foliage is pretty against the green and blue.
I don't start out planning to put this many photos on my blog posts but it's hard to omit any.
The pinks were so, so pretty.  I think of cotton candy.
This gathering of birds is "in the pink."

A "regular" on the beach.
It's fun to watch these fellows swim under water along the water's edge.

I trust you've enjoyed seeing what we've seen on Siesta Key.  Come back tomorrow or the next day for more.
