I joined Northpointe after my holiday gift pass expired. Excepting for the holidays, since November, I've spent a few hours every Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Northpointe.
Typically, TWO of my four workout days includes the following exercise routine:
1. Stationary bike-20 to 30 minutes
2. Treadmill-run 1 mile
3. 2 sets of 12 repetitions on all of the following weight machines-leg press, chest press, seated row, leg curl, shoulder press, bicep curl, tricep pushdown, ab crunch, fly, calves, preacher bicep curl, torso, lateral raise, leg extension, low row, leg adduction, and leg abduction
4. Treadmile-run 1 mile
*
5. Elliptical trainer-30 minutes
On the other TWO days, I do approximately the same workout as above, minus the weight machines.
After nearly killing myself, I enjoy the steam room and a shower. This morning, I didn't do any of the above. Instead, I swam, sat in the steam room for a few minutes and finally relaxed in the whirlpool for the first time. Could it be that I'm coming to my senses?
I know I shouldn't be working out as hard as I am, but until I get a grip on myself, I'll keep on with it. Oh, I almost forgot. On Saturday mornings, I take a yoga class before doing all five of the workouts listed above.

Inevitably, my workout routines will undergo changes. I hope to take some of the many other classes offered. I'd like to try all of them, but not all in one day, I promise.
Needless to say, I'm often too pooped to come up with anything of value to put on my blog. Hang in there with me and hopefully I'll start entertaining you properly again.

Scary, Shaddy, scary.
I am exhausted just reading the workout list.
Gosh but your good to do all that lot. I doubt I could do half that amount these days. Next time I think that a simple walk is too much for me I will have to remember everything you do and try to be inspired by it all, but right now I am off for a lie down till I recover from reading the list lol.
Much love
Lia

I'm with Lia. Let me catch my breath.
In all seriousness, I'm glad you are able to take care of yourself this way.
My fitness routing, now I am limited to stretching, walking and swimming. None of which I do often enough. Maybe you will be a bit of inspiration for me as this new year starts out.
Gully: I reckon I'm going through a stage, you know, like children as they grow up. It's like being a child in a candy shop when I see all that's available at NorthPointe. "I want some of this and I want one of those and I want..."
Yup, it's scary.
Lia: You have some health issues so you need to take it easy at this time. Be careful, whatever you do. I hope you're feeling better quite soon and can do the things you enjoy.
darksculptures: I've been watching the history channel on the personal televisions provided with each of the bikes, treadmills and elliptical trainers. Hopefully, I'll be learning some things while I workout.
Auntie thinks you are doing WAY TOO MUCH, I just ordered a book recommended by Hugh Downs, that will do miracles for us.
Wow, Shaddy, I'm impressed! I take a yoga class on Saturday mornings, too, and walk the dogs for about an hour a day. AND THAT'S IT!!!
Like I said, I'm REALLY impressed. Plus NorthPointe looks fabulous.
Good for you!!
Auntie: I know. I could use a miracle or two!
Natasha: Your exercise routine sounds quite sensible to me. Obviously, I don't believe in doing the sensible thing. I strive for the outrageous!
If my motivation to workout like Rambo is to impress others, then I reckon I achieved it with you. THANKS for being REALLY impressed. I worked out this afternoon and now you've pumped me up to do it all over again on Friday.
The facility truly is fabulous.
